Amidst the Coronavirus pandemic, many people are taking their health condition seriously. One way people are staying healthy and far from catching the virus is through social distancing. Through avoiding contact with large crowds and sickly people, people can reduce the risk of catching the said virus. While this health practice is necessary for many people, those with paying jobs can see social distancing as a huge negative. At Synergy Eleven, we understand this frustration when it comes to having to work from home. However, we also understand the importance and safety precautions when it comes to preventing catching COVID-19. In this blog entry, we’ll be providing simple ways to keep safe during this pandemic. These rules apply to all workers, whether you’re working from home or not.

Personal Hygiene

The first of many ways you can lower these risks is by keeping yourself clean. Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds if you’ve been in a public place, have blown your nose, coughed, or sneeze. If you don’t have soap or water available to you, find a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol. Make sure to avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands as well.

When it comes to coughs and sneezes, make sure to cover your mouth and nose with a tissue, or at least use the inside of your elbow. Afterward, throw your used tissue in the trash and wash your hands for 20 seconds.

Be sure to wipe down your work surface with cleaning products as well.

Social Distancing

Social distancing has been a practice that many people have been exercising over these past few days, and you can take part in it as such by doing the following:

-Avoiding contact with people who are sick. Even if it’s something as simple as a cold, don’t take the risk.

-If Sick: You should wear a facemask when you are around other people (e.g., sharing a room or vehicle) and before you enter a healthcare provider’s office. If you are not able to wear a facemask (for example, because it causes trouble breathing), then you should do your best to cover your coughs and sneezes, and people who are caring for you should wear a facemask if they enter your room.

-Above all else, if you are sick, please stay home.
